Woman killed, 2 seriously injured in highway crash west of Leduc

A woman was killed and two more were seriously injured in a highway crash west of Leduc on Friday.

A woman was killed and two more were seriously injured in a highway crash west of Leduc on Friday.

RCMP, paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene on Highway 19 shortly after 4:30 p.m., police said.

Two vehicles collided head-on near Range Road 255. 

The woman who died of her injuries was the driver of one of the vehicles, police said.  RCMP had no further details on the two people who were transported to hospital. 

Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. Road conditions in the area were fair at the time of the collision. 

Traffic was being re-routed for several hours during the investigation but Highway 19 has since been reopened, police said.

A collision analyst was called to the scene. No further details were provided by RCMP.
