A person has died following a two-car collision in St. Albert, north of Edmonton, Saturday evening.
Police say at around 8:20 p.m. the driver of an SUV tried to make a left turn at St. Albert Trail and Hebert Road, and collided with an oncoming car. The car then hit a lamp post.
The passenger of the car, a 27-year-old man, was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver was taken to hospital.
No one in the SUV was injured.
It’s not yet known if speed or alcohol was a factor.
