Exhibit celebrates Chinese restaurants as part of prairie history
A new exhibit opening this weekend at the Royal Alberta Museum recognizes the role Chinese restaurants played across the prairies.
"At the heart of the exhibit is the story of small towns in Alberta and their relationship with their local Chinese restuarant," says RAM's Chris Robinson. "You travel to any town in Alberta and chances are you will find such a restaurant."
The exhibit acknowledges the perseverance and the pioneering spirit of the people who owned and operated the diners, making them hubs in the community where any one looking for a meal was always welcome.
