Police are investigating after three shots were fired at a home near 106th Street and 175A Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
Shaken neighbours told police they heard the gunfire around 2:30 p.m. – in broad daylight in a typically quiet neighbourhood.
“The kids are playing around here, they ride bicycles,” said nearby resident Haneef Gaffar. “This is just a scary moment right now.”
Fortunately, no one was hurt. However, police say it doesn’t appear to be a random crime.
Speaking Sunday, Sgt. David DeMarco said the shooting was unusual given the time and place.
“It is rare for this area. This is a very quiet community and it's certainly not common for us to be in this area for events of this nature.”
Police have not yet identified any suspects behind the shooting. Anyone with further information is asked to contact EPS or Crime Stoppers.
