While Argentine fans left the Centennial Plaza heartbroken, German supporters were ecstatic having watched their team score a late goal to secure the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Hundreds gathered at the Centennial Plaza south of the Stanley A. Milner Library to watch the World Cup final. It proved to be an emotional roller coaster for all fans in attendance, who had to wait until the 112th minute to see a goal hit the back of the net.

As soon as Germany's Mario Götze scored, fans erupted in cheers at the downtown plaza.
