An Edmonton child has died after being struck by a vehicle on a residential street in the Terwillegar neighbourhood of the city.

The 18-month-old boy was struck Wednesday afternoon by a family member's vehicle that was pulling out of a driveway on O'Connor Close shortly after 5 p.m. MT, police said.

The child was rushed to hospital where he died a short time later, police confirm.

No charges have been laid and alcohol wasn't a factor in the incident, police said.
