Edmonton teacher facing more sex charges
2nd girl comes forward with allegations against St. Basil teacher
A 27-year-old Edmonton school teacher is facing more sex charges in relation to a second female student.
Piotr Zaloba, who taught at St. Basil Catholic School at 102nd Street and 115th Avenue, was charged last month after police heard he was having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.
Police suspected there may be other victims.
On Wednesday police said a 13-year-old student with similar allegations came forward.
Zaloba now faces additional charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and two counts of luring a child.
St. Basil is a K-9 school with an enrolment of 400 students. It is also home to a Polish bilingual program and an all girls leadership academy.
Zaloba, a temporary contract teacher, has been suspended.
