Edmonton police probe northside homicide

Edmonton homicide detectives are investigating a stabbing death in the city's north end Sunday morning that left an 18-year-old dead.

Edmonton homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing death of an 18-year-old Edmonton man in the city's north side Sunday morning.

Police and paramedics were called to a vehicle in a parking lot at 133rd Avenue and 97th Street about 11:20 a.m. where Mohamed Jama Salad was found dead with stab wounds.

Police believe people who knew the man were taking him to hospital and he died along the way.

Few details have been released, although police are treating a nearby alley at 94th Street and 138th Avenue as a crime scene.

Police say they do not yet have any suspects.
