Edmonton police are investigating the suspicious death of a man in Hermitage Park, the second such death in the city in a few hours.

Police were called after a man's body, with no obvious sign of injury, was found at 6:30 a.m. Monday in the northeast Edmonton park.

Police are uncertain how the man, thought to be in his 30s, died so the death is being treated as suspicious while an autopsy is scheduled.

Police are also investigating a suspicious death in a northeast Edmonton apartment.

Police say the man was killed in a fight at the walk-up at 34th Street and 115th Avenue at 2:10 a.m.

"EMS attempted to revive the male, who is believed to be in his 30s; however he succumbed to his injuries," says Insp. Chad Tawfik in a news release.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday, but a resident told CBC News it looked as though the man had been stabbed.

She said she heard screaming in a third floor suite and when she went to investigate she saw a man lying on the floor bleeding badly.

The victim did not live in the building, she said.
