The C-Line Service will provide bus service to the Edmonton International Airport starting Monday Nov. 1. ((CBC))

The new C-Line bus service between Edmonton's LRT and the international airport will begin Monday Nov.1.

The C-Line will run between Century Park LRT station, Edmonton International Airport, Nisku Industrial Park and the City of Leduc.

Edmonton Transit will provide the buses and the staff to run the line, which will operate during the morning and afternoon rush hours, Monday to Friday.

The service is funded by Leduc and Leduc County.

The bus will leave for the airport four times each weekday between 5:30 and 7:15 a.m. It will make four return trips between 4:00 and 5:45 p.m. Each trip should take about 20 minutes. One-way fare is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and youth.

The service was supposed to start on Aug. 30 but was delayed when Greyhound Canada fought the new route. Earlier this month Alberta Transportation overruled Greyhound.

The city is watching the project with interest. If demand is great enough, the service may be expanded so it runs all day, seven days a week.
