Doughnut addicts line up for first bite
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts opened its first Alberta store Tuesday morning, serving a few customers who had been waiting in line since Sunday at noon.
Two Edmonton brothers, Brett and Jared Taylor, camped outside the Sunridge Mall location to make sure they got the first bites.
The university students say they enjoy watching the doughnuts made, from start to finish, a visible process the chain likes to describe as "doughnut-making theatre." Two hundred dozen doughnuts will be produced every hour.
The U.S.-based company plans to open an outlet in South Edmonton Common this summer.
