Donor treats Edmonton seniors facility to ice cream
An anonymous donor provided a cool treat for staff and residents of an Edmonton senior care facility on Friday.
Hundreds of servings of Dairy Queen ice cream were dropped off at the CapitalCare Norwood facility, and staffer Penny Reynolds said everyone loved the surprise.
"There was ice cream everywhere," Reynolds told CBC News. "For one small moment in time it was just amazing to see such joy and happiness."
The donation came through the Dairy Queen location in Sherwood Park. Its manager delivered the order personally.
"It's just so kind and so generous," Reynolds said, "and when I think of our residents in our facility and all our staff that work so hard together to provide the best care, this was just an exciting thank you and appreciation for everybody."
The Norwood facility provides care to 205 patients and residents.
