Although Edmonton is in the middle of a heat wave, only one of the city’s four outdoor pools are open past 7 p.m.
Only Mill Creek Pool is open until 9 p.m. People say that doesn’t make sense to them, especially at this time of year, when the sun sets around ten p.m.
“I think that's pretty lame. Especially on a day when it's +30,” said Kyle Baylone.
“I think they get way more business if they were open way past that.”
A spokesperson says the city is keeping an eye on evening attendance at Mill Creek Pool.
If Mill Creek is packed, hours may be extended at the other outdoor pools.
The outdoor pools in Edmonton are Oliver, Queen Elizabeth, Fred Broadstock and Mill Creek.
The city has a fifth outdoor pool at Borden Park, but it is closed for renovations until 2016.
