Death of baby girl in Alberta suspicious, say RCMP
A four-month-old baby girl from Red Deer, Alta., died from severe head injuries early Saturday morning.
The infant was brought to the Red Deer Regional Hospital suffering from life-threatening head injuries at around 6:30 p.m. Friday.
She was later transported by Stars Air Ambulance to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, where she died at around 1:15 a.m.
Red Deer City RCMP were contacted after the infant arrived in Edmonton.
RCMP are treating the death as suspicious and wouldn’t confirm if the girl was with her parents, relatives or others when she was injured.
An autopsy will be performed at the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday.
