Council approves new Walterdale Bridge
Edmonton city councillors approved the concept plan for the new Walterdale Bridge at their meeting Wednesday.
The current bridge, which spans the North Saskatchewan River on 105th Street, is nearly 100 years old.
The concept for the new $132-million bridge is a one-span arch with three lanes for traffic and a multi-use trail on one side and sidewalk on the other.
Construction is expected to begin in 2013.
