City to screen World Cup games downtown
The City of Edmonton will be hosting free viewing parties downtown for the remaining 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil games.
A 10 x 6 foot HD LED screen has been set up in Centennial Plaza south of the Stanley A. Milner Library to show the remaining games.
Brazil will play Germany at 2 p.m. Tuesday; on Wednesday, the Netherlands will take on Argentina.
If you’re not able to make it out to watch the game, there’s still colour commentary available on the radio.
CBC’s Gareth Hampshire calls the play-by-plays for FC Edmonton, and sat down with Edmonton AM host Mark Connolly to talk about the art of soccer commentating.
