CBC Edmonton's 18th Annual Turkey Drive officially kicked off this morning.

Edmonton AM's Mark Connolly was Master of Ceremonies to start what is CBC's biggest fundraiser in support of the Edmonton Food Bank.

The campaign hit the ground running with Friday's show.  Special guests included Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson, big community sponsor Richard Wong, General Manager of Chateau Lacombe and several musical ensembles.

Each day of the Turkey Drive, CBC Edmonton will collect monetary donations (cash, VISA, Mastercard & cheque) and frozen turkeys for Edmonton Food Bank. This year's goal is to raise $500,000 (or about 20,000 turkeys valued at $25 each).
