Canada Place is closed today due to mechanical problems caused by flooding.

CBC News confirmed with Edmonton Fire Rescue that firefighters were called to a complaint about water on the 4th floor around 5:15 p.m.  The water affected mechanical systems in the building.

The building is home to many federal government offices including the passport office, which operated a temporary muster point out of the Shaw Conference Centre.

Passport Canada staff are no longer there. People are to call 1-800-567-6868 if they have questions about passports.

Anyone who works at Canada Place is advised to check with their managers on the status of the building and alternate work sites.
