Buses do double duty in Strathcona County
New double-decker buses will carry twice the riders on Edmonton-bound routes
Strathcona County Transit will start using new double-decker buses on routes into Edmonton next month.
The buses, which are manufactured in Scotland, hold eighty riders, which allows the county to increase its capacity using the same number of routes.
"Pretty much any of our routes between Sherwood Park and Edmonton, [there is] a chance that you will see these buses on them in the next year," said Matthew Carpenter, director of Strathcona County Transit.
The first of the 14 buses will go into service in September, with the rest coming online over the next five months.
