Boy assembles care packages for homeless people
A Spruce Grove boy is collecting donations from local businesses to fill "Bags of Joy" for the homeless.
Connor Cragg, 6, goes from door to door giving shopowners a letter that explains how he is collecting toiletries, food, beverages and clothing for the Hope Mission.
His mother Nichole Cragg says Connor wanted to help after his class discussed the issue of homelessness.
"He didn't like the idea that people can't afford stuff," she said."He kinda said 'Can we get them all gum?' And I said well, there's thousands of them, probably, we can't afford to get that much gum, so it snowballed from there."
Connor collected enough items to assemble 21 bags just before Christmas. He wants to make another 30 bags, hopefully by the summer.
