Bissell Centre reaches goal in thrift shop fundraiser
The Bissell Centre has raised the $25,000 it needed to reopen the thrift shop destroyed by fire in June.
The inner city agency launched the online “ReStore Bissell” fundraising drive last month. On the last day of the campaign, donations were at $25,540.
The thrift shop’s permanent location at 118th Avenue and 99th Street was hit by a fire in September 2013.
The store moved to a temporary location but that, too, was destroyed by fire.
The Bissell Centre is aiming to reopen the thrift shop in its permanent location in October.
