Attempted murder charge laid after man's neck slashed
A 62-year-old man faces an attempted murder charge in the attack of a supervisor at a property management office in west Edmonton on Monday.
The supervisor, a man in his mid-40s, was slashed in the neck in the mid-day incident at Helm Property Management at 155th Street and Stony Plain Road. He is expected to survive.
Police said the attack followed an earlier altercation between the accused and staff at the office about a property he was renting.
The accused is alleged to have returned to the office two hours later with a knife. The supervisor had locked himself inside after sending all his staff home.
Witnesses saw a man break open the window with his knife handle and crawl into the office where he is alleged to have attacked the supervisor, who was hiding in a back room.
The accused is also charged with break and enter, possession of a weapon, uttering threats, and mischief under $5,000.
