Minister Thomas Lukaszuk invited Albertans to complete a survey on the province's employment standards legislation.

Albertans are being invited to provide feedback on the province's employment standards legislation which includes the rules on minimum wage, general holidays, overtime and more.

“We want to hear what Albertans think about the laws that govern their workplaces," said Thomas Lukaszuk, minister of jobs, skills, training and labour.

Consultations begin today regarding the Employment Standards Code which sets out those standards in the province.

A discussion guide and survey is available online where people can offer their comments on the topic and provide feedback to a series of questions.

"I encourage Albertans to read the Talking about Work discussion guide and complete the online survey, or send us their input," Lukaszuk said.

Those interested in participating can review the Talk and Work discussion guide and take the survey here.

Comments can also be sent via email to jstl.esreview@gov.ab.ca, or a hard copy of the survey can be requested by calling the Employment Standards Contact Centre at 1-877-427-3731.
