Alberta RCMP display drug seizures from routine traffic stops

Northern Alberta RCMP showcased bags of marijuana, jugs of crystal meth and other drugs, slong with weapons all confiscated during road-side traffic stops over the first three months of 2013.

Northern Alberta RCMP showcased bags of marijuana, jugs of crystal meth and other drugs, along with weapons all confiscated during road-side traffic stops over the first three months of 2013.  

RCMP invited reporters to examine the drugs which included 180 kilograms of marijuana, meth, heroin, oxycodone, a Beretta handgun with two magazines and $400,000 in cash.

Making routine traffic stops can lead to significant seizures of drugs, firearms, stolen goods and other contraband materials, RCMP said.
