For the first time in Alberta history a woman has presided over question period at the legislature.
Speaker of the House Gene Zwozdesky was away Wednesday and was replaced by Red Deer MLA Mary Anne Jablonski for the day.
Jablonski wasn't certain she had made history.
"My son asked me the question this morning so we had the library research it, Hansard researched it and the Speaker's office researched it," she said.
"Historically with the three women involved in the three main positions in the house, that's something extraordinary," she said referring to Premier Alison Redford, opposition leader Danielle Smith and herself.
Jabolonski said she was a bit nervous taking her step into history.
