Check your old lottery tickets — you might be a multi-millionaire.
A $50 million winning Lotto Max ticket purchased on Dec. 20, 2013 in Edmonton is still unclaimed.
“It’s not uncommon for people to forget about their lottery tickets, especially tickets purchased at such a busy time of the year,” said Western Canada Lottery Corporations spokesperson Andrea Marantz in a news release.
“We urge everyone to think back and look for tickets.”
If the prize is not claimed by Dec. 20, it will become the largest unclaimed prize to date in Canada. The current record holder is an unclaimed $14.9 million Lotto 6/49 prize from June 2006 purchased in Alberta.
Prizes that are not claimed one year after the draw are returned to players in the form of additional prizing.
