Police have charged a third person in connection with Saturday’s bizarre series of attacks in Edmonton’s McCauley neighbourhood.

The violence began near 95th Street and 110th Avenue around 2:45 a.m. when police say the three suspects attacked a man investigating a disturbance outside of his home.

Two other men were then attacked in their nearby homes.

The streak of violence ended when the third victim allegedly fought off his attacker using a machete.

The first victim is in a coma with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the latest person charged is related to one of the other suspects, and was only involved in the first of three attacks.

All three suspects are charged with attempted murder.
