Three Edmontonians are dead and a fourth person injured following a collision near Kamloops, B.C., Sunday morning.

RCMP said a semi-trailer heading southbound on Highway 5 collided with a northbound SUV near Heffley Creek around 9 a.m., killing three of the four occupants of the SUV.

An Edmonton couple in their fifties, and the 55-year old driver of the SUV all died at the scene, police said. The driver's 52-year old wife is in critical condition in a Kamloops hospital.

The two couples were returning to Edmonton after a ski trip, police said.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

RCMP said speed, weather conditions and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
