20 cars from CN freight train derail in northern Alberta

The Transportation Safety Board has confirmed 20 cars from a CN train derailed in Faust, Alta. Wednesday afternoon.

Seventeen of the derailed cars were carrying dangerous goods, said a TSB spokesperson. Of the other three, one was carrying lumber and two were hopper cars.

TSB says no dangerous goods have been released. No injuries were reported.

Investigators are expected to arrive on scene Thursday.

Faust is about 300 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
