Two Fort McMurray teens died in highway crash near the northern Alberta city Monday afternoon.
Neil Bursey, 18, and Corey Chartrand, 16, were in a car on Highway 69 southeast of Fort McMurray just before 4 p.m. when the driver lost control, said RCMP.
The car turned sideways, drifted across the road and was hit by an oncoming pick-up truck.
Both teens were taken to hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
The driver of the pick up was treated for minor injuries.
Police believe the crash was caused by excessive speed and poor road conditions.
