2 men charged in west Edmonton homicide
Charges have been laid against two men in a fatal stabbing early Saturday in west Edmonton.
Jayden Jeffery Zylinski, 19, was charged with second-degree murder, possession of an offensive weapon, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of a firearm, and careless storage of ammunition.
The firearms charges are in relation to a search warrant executed on a west-end home over the weekend, the Edmonton Police Service said in a release.
Nathan Gordon Gour, 21, was charged with one count of assault.
A juvenile male was questioned and released, and officers have identified a fourth man who they are in the process of locating.
Brendan Malcolm McNaughton, 21, was found dead by police in a parking lot near 182 Street and 89 Avenue at approximately 3:45 a.m. MT Saturday.
The initial investigation indicated McNaughton might have gotten into a fight with another man after spending Friday evening at the Nu Wave Pub.
It was the city's sixth homicide of the year.
