1st-degree murder charges laid in senior's death
Two people are facing first-degree murder charges in the death of 67-year-old Lawrence Semeniuk last June.
Semeniuk was found dead in his central Edmonton apartment at 117th Avenue and 95th Street under suspicious circumstances.
No cause of death was ever released.
Police have now charged a 35-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man with first-degree murder and forcible confinement.
The accused and the victim were known to each other, said police.
A surveillance camera at the seniors residence recorded an image of the woman which, with the help of media, led to the arrests, police said.
