1st-degree murder charge laid in Sherwood Park slaying

Justin Anthony Faltermeier, 18, has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a teen early Sunday in Sherwood Park, east of Edmonton, RCMP said Monday.

Justin Anthony Faltermeier, 18, has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a teen early Sunday in Sherwood Park, east of Edmonton, RCMP said Monday.

Police have identified the victim as Blaine Arthur McNally, 18, from Sherwood Park.

At about 3 a.m. Sunday, RCMP were called to a townhouse in Sherwood Park where they found McNally suffering from stab wounds. He later died in hospital.

Faltermeier was remanded into custody and will appear in court on Wednesday.
