The body of one man has been recovered and the search is on for another after a fishing boat overturned on Mons Lake, about 100 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, RCMP said Monday.
Police said they got a call just after 8:00 a.m. Monday that a 12-foot aluminum fishing boat had flipped over. They later recovered the boat and two personal floatation devices.
The body of the first man was recovered by Fish and Wildlife employees, with the help of an RCMP helicopter. The victim's name is not being released until his family has been contacted.
The search continued Monday afternoon for a second man also believed to have been in the boat.
Police said they did not believe weather or alcohol were factors in the accident.
