Stphane Dion says he felt threatened and shocked when he was hit with two pies in Montreal last spring.
The federal Intergovernmental Affairs minister was testifying against the two political pie throwers in municipal court on Friday morning.
Patrick Robert and Benoit Foissy have been charged with assault.
Robert, also known as Pop Tarte, says the only injury Dion suffered in the attack was to his ego, and that was the point.
Robert argued in court that politicians have to accept a higher level of criticism than ordinary citizens. The judge in the case does not expect to render a judgement immediately.
