Woman walking on Macleod Trail sexually assaulted, say police
Police also looking to speak with the victim
Calgary police say a woman was robbed and sexually assaulted while walking on Macleod Trail.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was walking northbound in the 1000 block of Macleod Trail south on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. MT when she was approached by five men, police said.
“A physical altercation occurred and the woman was knocked to the ground where she was physically and sexually assaulted. The victim’s phone and other personal items were also stolen. Once the men fled, the victim went to a nearby agency to request help,” police said in a press release.
Police and emergency workers arrived, taking the woman to a medical care facility where she was treated for minor injuries.
Police are looking for two white men, both approximately 35 years old. One had a full grey beard and the other had distinctive blue eyes.
Police are also looking for the victim, who left the medical care facility before investigators had a chance to speak with her at length about the incident.
