Woman hit by train near Cochrane
Woman, 29, transported by STARS air ambulance to Foothills Hospital
RCMP say a woman is in hospital after being hit by a train near Cochrane early Sunday morning.
The woman was reportedly lying on the train tracks at Morley First Nation around 5:30 a.m. when a train travelling at 30 km/h hit her.
Train crew had seen the woman and tried to stop but was not able to do so in time.
RCMP say she was unconscious but breathing when emergency services arrived at the scene.
The woman was taken to Foothills hospital in Calgary by STARS air ambulance.
At this point, the investigation into what happened is ongoing.
