WestJet Encore pilots reach contract deal with airline

Pilots at WestJet Encore have ratified a new five-year contract with the Calgary-based airline. 

The deal was reached with 93 per cent of eligible pilots taking part in the vote.

The contract is the first ratified agreement between WestJet and its Encore pilots. It takes effect Jan.1, 2016 and expires on Dec. 31, 2020.

The 275 pilots are represented by the WestJet Pilots Association (WJPA).

WJPA is a subgroup of WestJet's Proactive Communication Team (PACT), the employee association that represents WestJet's more than 11,000 employees.
