A water quality alert has been lifted for the hamlet of Blackie after residents were warned Friday to stop drinking tap water.
Officials say the hamlet experienced an unscheduled shut down of the water supply during maintenance work on Friday. The municipal district of Foothills issued a water quality alert until the water could be tested.
Bottled water was delivered to residents of Blackie during the advisory.
The hamlet of Blackie is located 70 kilometres south of Calgary on Highway 799.
It has a population of just over 300.
