Police are searching for three men after a late-night armed robbery at a grocery store in southwest Calgary.

Just before 10 p.m. MT on Sunday two armed suspects entered Blair’s No Frills at 882 85th St. S.W.

The men struck a security guard before confronting the store manager, demanding he open the safe.

They were unable to gain access to the safe; however, the men left with an undisclosed amount of money and fled in a waiting grey Ford F350 pickup truck driven by a third suspect.

Police said it’s believed the same stolen truck was responsible for two non-injury accidents earlier in the day.

A cashier called police while the men were still in the store.

The police canine unit searched the neighbourhood for more than an hour trying to track down the suspects.

Police said the getaway driver was a Middle Eastern man and the other two suspects were black.

The security guard suffered minor injuries.
