Village Brewery recalls growler bottles over explosion risk
Calgary brewery received a defective shipment of its jug-style bottles
Calgary's Village Brewery is recalling some of its beer bottles over concerns they could explode.
The brewery is asking customers to return the jug-style growler bottles and for retailers to stop selling them.
The company received some reports of the bottles leaking, and in one case exploding.
“Upon further investigation with our glass supplier, it was discovered that the last bottle production shipped to Village may contain defective growlers that do not meet the minimum internal pressure of 75 psi,” the company said in a release.
Customers can return full bottles to the brewery at 5000 12A Street S.E. for a credit or a replacement 12-pack.
