People and their pets are expected to gather in Calgary Sunday night for a candlelight vigil in memory of a dog and cat who were found dead in an alleyway with their muzzels taped shut.
The Siberian husky and a six-month-old kitten were found a week apart in Willow Park.
As of 5:30 p.m. MT Sunday, a website soliciting donations for a reward for information leading to the capture of those responsible had almost hit $45,000.
A Facebook group encouraged people to meet in Sue Higgins Park, formerly Southland Park, at Southland Drive and Deerfoot Trail, at 6:30 pm. for the vigil.
Anyone who recognizes either animal or has any information is encouraged to contact the Calgary Humane Society protection and investigations department at 403-205-4455.
