Surveillance footage

Calgary police released surveillance video of a white Dodge Journey crashing through the doors at Market Mall during a robbery in early November.

Two suspects then broke into Jewels by Maxime’s, taking a number of high-end watches estimated to cost more than $100,000.

Police say the security guard on duty heard a loud crash around 4 a.m. MT and alerted authorities.

The planned robbery took less than 10 minutes, say police.

Investigators have not been able to develop suspect descriptions based on the footage, but are hoping people may have information on the actions of the vehicle used by suspects before or after the incident.

The Dodge Journey, with Alberta licence plate BBM 5915, was stolen during a break-in at a home in Rocky Ridge sometime between Oct. 29 and Oct. 30.

Based on information from the public, it is believed the stolen SUV may have been in the area of Northmount Drive and 14 Street N.W. during the evening of Nov. 3.

Police believe the vehicle may have met up with a white or grey Dodge Caravan and a black truck, which were also possibly stolen, before leaving the area.

The SUV was later found in plain sight in the nearby community of Varsity.

Anyone with information is asked to call Calgary Crime Stoppers.
