The dust-up this week between the mayor’s office and the Calgary head of the Canadian Homebuilders’ Association was about whether city hall is putting the freeze on new outlying communities.

The two sides agreed to patch things up and work together. But is there any truth to the idea that the city is at war with the suburbs?
