Law enforcement officers dip into Calgary's Arbour Lake

Dozens of law enforcement officers braved some icy cold Calgary waters Sunday morning for charity.
But before the event could even start, firefighters had to saw through more than half a meter of ice to expose the icy-cold water of Arbour Lake in northwest Calgary.
Law enforcement officers and athletes raised $10,000 for the Special Olympics.
“Their passion and their dedication to everything they do – it just inspires you, warms your heart,” said Stephen Scott, a corrections officer at the Calgary Remand Centre.
Law enforcement officers are the largest fundraiser for the Special Olympics globally. Since the initiative began about 30 years ago, $450 million has been raised.
