The former chair of the Taber police commission in southern Alberta has been given more jail time for online child luring and accessing child pornography.

It started with allegations from a girl south of the border, who claimed to be involved in a cyber relationship with an older man.

Curtis Paradee was arrested and charged in June 2011, following an investigation by Alberta police and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced last May to 90 days in jail to be served on weekends.

The Crown appealed, and Alberta's Court of Appeal agreed that wasn't long enough.

It has now sentenced Paradee to 18 months behind bars.

Taber, Alta., is located about 280 kilometres southeast of Calgary.
