A Calgary man is in hospital after being shot in the chest with a nail gun at a work site in the northeast community of SkyView Ranch Tuesday around 9 a.m. MT.
"It was approximately a three-inch nail, or sometimes it's almost described as a spike," said Stuart Brideaux is with EMS.
"It is to be used with pneumatic devices, so it has some high velocity to it. We were able to obtain a sample of the type of nail that did cause the injury to send to hospital staff to review."
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
