Calgary property assessments are in the mail, but how does the city come up with the final number?

The city says home values went up slightly last year, but most Calgarians can expect to pay roughly the same in taxes this year.

The assessment puts the median price of a single family residence at $410,000, which is an increase of $10,000 over last year.
