A Calgary man who built an ice rink on his property in the city's northeast is finally drawing a crowd.

"I did have a poor turnout when it was really cold, but as you can see now we're getting skaters," said outdoor rink owner Norm Price on Monday.

"We probably had about 50 skaters yesterday."

Price says he'd like to see the number of skaters climb even higher.

The outdoor rink is just off McKnight Boulevard on 84th Street in the city's northeast and features night lights, hockey nets, a place to warm up and a snack stand.
