A man trying to get home to Calgary for the holidays says he was forced to pay for a flight after Greyhound left him stranded overnight in Kamloops, B.C.
Peter Van de Reep says he and dozens of passengers from Vancouver were supposed to transfer to a new bus upon arrival in Kamloops late Sunday night.
Hours later, into the morning and next day, the passengers were still waiting in the depot.
“There were mixed messages as to whether it was a driver that was needed or a bus. At one point, the bus was reported missing. But, really, I think the workers didn't... they didn't know what was going on,” he said.
Van de Reep says he and a few other passengers decided to leave the depot and seek flights out of Kamloops to ensure they would make it to their families in Calgary in time for Christmas Eve.
CBC has tried repeatedly to contact Greyhound Canada, but so far no representative or spokesperson has returned our calls.
